The Challenge
Underwriters open every submission in arrival order and most are declined after the file has been read end to end. Appetite sits in guidelines, endorsements and one head's memory, so triage cannot be delegated.
How It Works
- Reads ACORD submission forms, schedules of values, loss runs and broker emails as they arrive.
- Scores each risk against the written appetite, declinature list and open capacity by class.
- Drops a ranked morning queue on the underwriter with quote, refer or decline already reasoned.
What It Removes
- Reading full submission packs before a decline decision
- Rekeying schedule of values data into the rating sheet
- Chasing brokers for loss runs already inside the pack
Input Data RequirementsACORD submission forms, schedules of values, loss runs, broker email threads, underwriting appetite guidelines, bound-book and capacity data
Output FormatRanked daily submission queue with appetite fit, missing-information list and a drafted decline or refer note per risk
“We decline most of what comes in, but we only find that out after an underwriter has spent an hour inside the file.”
