The Challenge
Activities Regulations section 85 requires barrier status to be tested, verified and documented at well handover, with the guidance naming NORSOK D-010. The dossier is compiled onshore in parallel with drilling, so only the wait for a verification decision is rig time, and this engine does not price the compilation. Missing evidence found at handover is the expensive case, because by then the rig is waiting.
How It Works
- The engine assembles barrier status, test records and their acceptance criteria continuously as the well is drilled.
- It compares each record against the NORSOK D-010 criteria the well design cites and reports what is missing or unverified.
- It does not verify a barrier or accept a test; the Well Integrity Engineer and the verifier decide, and the engine makes sure nothing is missing when they do.
