The Challenge
Risk registers are started from a standard template and then edited by whoever is free. On a portfolio with 18 Sodir recorded operated exploration wellbores and no development precedent, the offsets that matter most are the ones OMV does not own, and nobody systematically reads them.
How It Works
- The engine selects comparable wellbores on formation, depth, mud system and hole size, including wells operated by others where data is public.
- It extracts what went wrong on those wells and the mitigation that worked, and drafts a risk register entry for each.
- It leaves the register with the Drilling Superintendent to accept, reject or edit, and records which offset each entry came from.
What It Removes
- Registers started from a generic template
- Offset evidence read only by the engineer who remembers it
- Risks carried forward without their mitigation
Input Data RequirementsSodir wellbore and daily drilling report data, OMV's own end of well reports and NPT ledger, the well programme and formation prognosis, public offset well records.
Output FormatDraft well specific risk register with an offset citation per entry, and a gap list where no comparable evidence exists.
“Every risk on this register should point at a well where it actually happened.”
