Concession renegotiation engine

One engine holds every Egyptian concession, every term inside it, and every comparable agreement in the public record: cost recovery percentage and period, excess recovery, profit share bands, lease term and extensions, incremental gas price, bonuses and work programme commitments.

The Challenge

The merged Western Desert concession added 20.2 million barrels of oil equivalent of proved and probable reserves and moved netback from 18 to 23 dollars a barrel. No drill bit was involved. The AESW renegotiation has begun and is not in year end reserves, and the merged interest rises from 26 to 50 percent on approval of Apache's exit.

How It Works

  • Reads and connects the source records named in the proposal.
  • One engine holds every Egyptian concession, every term inside it, and every comparable agreement in the public record: cost recovery percentage and period, excess recovery, profit share bands, lease term and extensions, incremental gas price, bonuses and work programme commitments. It models the netback effect of each variant before the meeting, tracks the approval chain from EGPC executive board to ministerial signature, and prices the delay while it is still avoidable.
  • Publishes a source-linked recommendation for General Manager Middle East approval and records the decision.

What It Removes

  • Negotiating without the comparable in hand
  • Revenue accrued but not yet invoiceable
  • A term conceded that a peer just won
