The Challenge

The CAD engineer's published brief names optical character recognition, raster to vector conversion, and written and verbal translation of Russian, British and American construction and engineering plans. As built drawings are produced by hand. The metrologist keeps calibration records in technical passports.

How It Works

  • Reads and connects the source records named in the proposal.
  • One searchable record of the whole engineering estate: drawings, as builts, well files, workover reports, daily drilling reports, technical passports, integrity records and the contractor deliverables already in the SharePoint portal. Scanned sheets are read and indexed, Russian and English are searched as one corpus, and every answer carries the sheet it came from. It says plainly when the record does not exist. Engine 05 uses this record. This engine builds it.
  • Publishes a source-linked recommendation for Chief Corporate Services Officer approval and records the decision.

What It Removes

  • A drawing redrafted because it was lost
  • A record readable in one language
  • Sixty years held in people's heads
Input Data RequirementsOperational, financial and reference records named in the Dragon_Oil proposal for Drawing Vault.
Output FormatDrawing Vault decision view with ranked actions, source links, confidence and a named owner.
“I asked for the as built on that riser and it gave me the sheet, in both languages.”
