The Challenge

The corrosion engineer's published brief is to schedule and execute cathodic protection monitoring, run pipeline surveys, reconcile chemical injection target against actual, log coupons and probes, and keep the inventory of the monitoring tools. Risk based inspection is a required competency with no software named.

How It Works

  • Reads and connects the source records named in the proposal.
  • One engine holds every line, vessel, valve and rotating machine with its inspection history, corrosion rate, chemical injection record and cathodic protection reading, and predicts which will need attention before the next planned survey. It re-plans the round by risk rather than by calendar, and reads each survey report back into the record instead of leaving it in a folder. Engine 03 accounts for the gas. This engine accounts for the metal that carries it.
  • Publishes a source-linked recommendation for Chief Operating Officer approval and records the decision.

What It Removes

  • An inspection round set by the calendar
  • Injection target versus actual, monthly
  • A survey report filed and forgotten
Input Data RequirementsOperational, financial and reference records named in the Dragon_Oil proposal for Integrity Watch.
Output FormatIntegrity Watch decision view with ranked actions, source links, confidence and a named owner.
“The round is planned on what is corroding, not on when we last went out.”
