Variance-Driven BHA Design Challenge
Measures variance from proven-best offset performance and challenges BHA and material specifications with an objective cost argument.
8-12Build Duration
5-12xIndicative ROI
The Challenge
Well specifications are often carried forward without data-driven validation because comparing historical performance across projects is time-consuming and manual. As a result, proven opportunities to optimize cost, performance, and design are frequently overlooked.
How It Works
- Ingests offset performance records, BHA run data and material specs from PIMS and Excel.
- Measures variance from proven-best performance and prices the gap on each specification.
- Gives the well engineer an evidence pack to challenge a spec before the order is placed.
What It Removes
- Specifications carried forward unchallenged
- Design debates settled by opinion, not offset data
- Offsets sampled by hand to prove a point
Input Data RequirementsOffset well performance records, BHA run data, material and design specifications, PIMS entries, Excel registers
Output FormatVariance-from-proven-best table, ranked specification challenges, cost-argument pack for the design review
“Show me which offset drilled it faster on a cheaper bottom hole assembly and I will take that to the design review.”
