The Challenge
The opportunity is to eliminate a flare called routine by habit, a return assembled by hand, and an intensity gain that was bought. The proposed workflow is source-linked, but the current operating baseline and financial value remain illustrative until validated with the client.
How It Works
- The engine codes every flare and vent event by source and cause against the Zero Routine Flaring rule, separates routine from non-routine, ranks the recurring non-routine sources by gas recovered and carbon avoided, and assembles each EEMS and OSPAR return from the same governed data, flagging what will not survive a question.
- It owns flared molecules, carbon cost and returns; deferment from the same equipment belongs to the Deferment and Barrier Engines.
- Routes the source-linked result to the named owner for review and action.
What It Removes
- A flare called routine by habit
- A return assembled by hand
- An intensity gain that was bought
Input Data RequirementsApplicable obligations, permits, evidence records, deadlines, approvals, exceptions and audit history
Output FormatOne board: every flare source, routine or not, the gas kept and the return it feeds.
“Which non-routine flare source keeps coming back, and what is that gas worth?”
